Shin Shin-seo tops Go ranking for 58 consecutive months.



Shin Shin-seo, 9-dan, has held the top spot in the Korean Go rankings for 58 consecutive months.

Shin Shin-seo scored 10,378 points in the October rankings released by the Korea Go Association on Friday, comfortably overtaking second-ranked Park Jung-hwan (9,944 points).

Shin Shin-seo dropped 15 points in the rankings last month with two wins, one draw, and one loss, but the gap between him and second place was large enough to secure the top spot.

If Shin Shin-seo, who has been at the top of the rankings since January 2022, retains the top spot in the November rankings, he will tie Park Jung-hwan's record for the longest period of time at the top.

After Shin Shin-seo and Park Jung-hwan, Byun Sang-il, Shin Min-joon, Kim Myung-hoon, Kang Dong-yoon, Kim Ji-seok, Lee Chang-seok, Seol Hyun-joon, and Won Sung-jin are ranked third through 10th.
